Sharing my journey _ one story at a time.
About me:
My journey over the years included heartache, challenges, and deep grief. However as I move through middle age, I am learning my path has also been full of love, joy, and resilience. And where I go next is up to the Universe!
This blog includes my experiences with having both my daughters dealing with life threatening illness, my career as an educator, and navigating my own health crises. Luckily, I have lots of living to do and many more stories to share.

Slow and Steady…
Another day closer to us coming home. We had a very laid back day – I seem to have a bit of a bug although I am wondering if it is adrenaline withdrawal?!!! The last weeks have been so intense that just having some down time is a different feeling. Ryleigh and I ventured out… Read more

I found out that Easter Seals House has WIFI – it just does not work in our room. I can sip my instant Starbucks in the common area on our floor and blog. We are in a transition time now. Ryleigh has been out of the hospital for 24 hours now. At first she was… Read more

Off the grid until Saturday
Ryleigh has been discharged but she needs to stay here for a couple more weeks. She has a remicade treatment on the 13th. As well we need to keep an eye on her for bleeding and neurological changes. She also needs reconditioning which will involve short outings and walks. Easier to do in the temperate… Read more

Thumbs Up!???
Today was an interesting day. Ryleigh did not sleep well last night. She did not fall asleep until 4 a.m. so getting up for meds and visits from doctors and physiotherapists this morning at 8 a.m. was not the most positive time for her — she was a grumpy bear! I don’t blame her –… Read more
