It has been a couple of weeks since my last update. Ryleigh had received her last treatment of Remicade and we hoped that our Christmas wishes would be answered and this treatment would work. Unfortunately, it did not seem to take hold. Ryleigh got really sick over the holidays and she ended up in our local hospital. She is dehydrated and in a lot of pain. Finally, she has had some pain relief as they have given her morphine. All she has done is sleep today but said that she cannot remember when the last time she felt no pain! She is such a trooper.
Although our local hospital is wonderful it is rural facility and as a result cannot service her the way she needs to be serviced. She will be transported to BC Children’s Hospital via an air ambulance. We are waiting our turn to get a ride on this amazing service. Right now she is resting, painless, and catching up on much needed zzzzzzz.
